Pure Joy

My apologies. I made a mistake in the wording of this entry when originally posted and the entry below is now correct. If I created any confusion about Mark's practice, I sincerely apologize. Mark has no imminent plans for retirement.

"Consider it pure joy, my brothers, when you face trials of many kinds because you know the testing of your faith develops perseverance, and perseverance must finish its work that you might be mature and complete, not lacking anything." (James 1)

The team members headed for Cambodia are feeling the growing pains of developing faith in God. Our planned itinerary came undone, so some of us will be learning the lesson of trusting God for daily guidance. Financial donations fell short of the financial need, so some of us are learning the lesson of sacrificial giving. Some members are facing emotionally stressful events in their households, so are learning the lesson of overcoming distraction. Please pray for these committed servants as we forge on despite difficulties.

The team members heading for Cambodia are:

Diana Hester, an adventurous soul looking forward to knowing God & herself in a new & life-changing way.

Lisa Turner, a homeschooling mama with a passion for children looking forward to ministering to orphans thru play.

Dayna Jones, a 2010 high school grad looking forward to experiencing life beyond Indiana, USA.

Isaac Roe, an experienced missionary looking forward to revisiting the people & places he's become attached to on previous trips.

Mark Truax, a medical doctor looking forward to exploring ministry options where his skills might be useful.

Jane Truax, an inquisitive mind looking forward to putting her beliefs into action.

And, me, Becky Roe.

God willing, our Cambodian faith adventure will be May 2-16. As I said, most of our agenda fell thru, but we do have reliable contacts in Cambodia whom we will minister with in various endeavors. There are possibilities of working in a couple of orphanages, in a few roadside villages, & hosting one or more free medical treatment sites. We also hope to post daily entries to keep our prayer partners & others informed on God's activity.
